THE STARRY NIGHT
THE ABOVE ART WORK OF VINCENT VAN GOGH 1889
This oil-on-canvas painting is dominating by a night sky roiling with chromatic blue swirl , a glowing yellow crescent moon which shows the waning gibbous stage of moon and also a Venus .
The dramatic swirling pattern of the sky is dominating the canvas. Which looks like a spiral nebula or a galaxies , some studies claims that swirling sky is radiating stars, demonstrating illuminance with scaling — similar to that the mathematical theory of physical turbulence with time of psychological turbulence for van Gogh . As he was facing emotional crises it seems that the sky is painted wet on wet executed quickly and confidently. The vertical cypresses an steeples counteract the horizontal of the town and stabilize the diagonal of the tumbling mountain range , town is still emphasizing the dramatic action everywhere else . The hills are over rolling the cypresses flicker like flames and the sky is spectacular motion , this can be said that he was more interested in the open infinity sky and the cypresses indicated the bridge between heaven and earth , he has shown a very small time which is between valleys and all homes are surrounding the church some house have lights . He teaches us that sky is not as it looks but as he feels.
Well frankly the bright colours caught my eyes and as there is a movie on him and songs on van Gogh , I took it as a opportunity to learn something about him and his art , plus a person expresses himself with colours is amazing is what I often try to do , he was depresses and last years of his life he was painting mostly about nights to I took it
Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous figures of history of western art work he created around 2,100 art works , including 860 oil paintings, most of them were from the last 2 years of his life , ehich includes landscapes , still lifes , portraits and self-portraits . he was very commercially successful but he was having depression, mental illness and poverty he died after comting suicide at the age of 37 . when he was in the asylum he wrote a tale “ I must also have a starry night with cypresses , or perhaps above all a field of ripe corn, there are some wonderful night here” he suffered from psychological crises he wrote another tale “ This morning i saw the country side from my window a long tim before sunrise , with nothing but the morning which looked very big “ , he was not allowed to paint in the asylum so he imagined it all and painter the starry night .
Bold colours and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brush work that contributed to the foundations of modern art Theo Franky indicated that the painting favoured style over substance .Abstract landscape painting with thick coating as gogh directly apply paint from the tube on the canvas ,he has used most brightest color like yellow and blue , his composition is superbly balanced , the vertical of the cypresses and steeples counteract the horixontal of the tower and stabilized the diagonal of the tumbling mountain range and the town is till emphasizing the dramatic action everywhere else .
The hills are rolling the cypresses flickers like flames and the sky is spectacular motion , There is a lesson in his art , brush stokes looks like lines that curve & swirl —_all of nature seems to be in motion. His modern art has many meaning.
